We’re putting the final touches together now. Lots of wiring and gluing and buttoning up. Very close to the point where we just walk up to it, turn it on, and go to town.

At this point we have the mics all wired into a custom mixer that sends power to the electret condenser mics while isolating the audio. Each of the 3 layers in the stack has 4 inputs and one output for a total of 12 lines. We’ve glued each solenoid head into place on the stand and have cut 8 tubes to tone (nearly tuned). The relay board and all other electronic components have been manufactured. 7 months into this project…

Made some tweaks to improve the tension on the solenoid. Can’t really hear the acoustics because the pipes are up in the rafters, but it is sounding good. Just flicking the wires against the battery but getting good speeds and consistent hits. A huge breakthrough night!
